Lofty Spot EDITION II

FREDA OSAYUKI IGIOGBE

WHAT WE CARRY

As part of Lofty Spot EDITION II: What We Carry, a limited number of commissions are available with sculptor Freda Osayuki Igiogbe.

Each work begins with a conversation, as a starting point. What’s shared feeds into the work, then shifts as Freda develops the piece through her own process.

There’s a natural back and forth, where something of the person is carried into the work, while the final form is shaped through Freda’s materials and way of making.

Working primarily with clay, her process is slow and iterative, with forms built, reworked and adjusted over time. Rather than fixing ideas too quickly, the work is allowed to change as it takes shape.

The final piece isn’t a direct translation, but a response, sitting within the same language as the sculptures in What We Carry.

A small number of commissions are available, with prices starting from £750.

How it Works

The process is kept simple and considered, allowing space for both conversation and making.

Start by registering interest via email or the form below.

We’ll arrange a short initial call to answer any questions and talk through the process.

This is followed by a 20–30 minute conversation with Freda, which forms the starting point for the work.

From there, the piece is developed over several weeks through her process, working primarily with clay and mixed materials.

Once complete, the work is shared and arranged for collection or delivery.
